Meet Lisa

I’m Lisa, an independent celebrant based in Lancashire. I’m a wife, daughter, sister and devoted dog owner, happiest surrounded by family, friends and the beautiful Lancashire countryside.

Life has taught me that the moments we share and the stories we leave behind matter deeply. As your celebrant, I bring warmth, calmness and genuine care to every ceremony I create.

Why I became a celebrant

My own experiences of love, family and loss showed me how powerful the right words can be. I became a celebrant to help people mark life’s most meaningful moments in a way that feels honest and true to them.

I will take time to listen and understand what matters to you whilst gently guiding you through every decision. Together, we will create a ceremony filled with meaning, thoughtful details and moments that feel unmistakably yours.

I believe there is no single “right” way to hold a ceremony. Instead of just following traditions and expectations, I believe it should reflect your personality, beliefs, and life story.

My approach

My Professional Experience

Alongside my celebrant training, I have many years of experience in learning, organisational development, coaching and supporting people through change. This has taught me how to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions to help people feel comfortable, understood and reassured.

Certificate of Attendance awarded to Lisa Edwards for successfully completing Professional Celebrant Training at International College of Professional Celebrants, dated June 21st to 26th, 2026.

Trained, Qualified and Always Learning

Becoming a celebrant is about far more than learning how to write and deliver a ceremony. For me, it was about developing the skills to listen, understand people’s stories and create ceremonies that genuinely reflect the people at the heart of them.

I completed my professional celebrant training through The International College of Professional Celebrants (ICPC), undertaking residential training near Settle in North Yorkshire. My training led to an NOCN-accredited celebrant qualification and covered the skills needed to create and deliver personal weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies and other meaningful life celebrations.

The International College of Professional Celebrants (ICPC) provides professional celebrant training, mentoring and ongoing development, helping celebrants build both the practical skills and confidence needed to support people through some of life’s most important moments.

Continuing Professional Development

Qualifying as a celebrant isn’t where my learning stops.

Throughout the year, I continue to invest in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), keeping my knowledge and skills current and continually developing the ceremonies and support I offer.

This includes ongoing learning, mentoring, professional development and keeping up to date with changes and good practice within the celebrant profession. I also continue to develop my knowledge across areas including wedding ceremonies, funeral ceremonies, bereavement, ceremony writing, storytelling and meaningful rituals.

Alongside my celebrant qualification, I bring more than 15 years' professional experience in learning and development, organisational development and coaching.

Listening, asking thoughtful questions and helping people find the words for what really matters have been at the heart of my work for many years.

So, whether you are looking for a Lancashire celebrant, a wedding celebrant, a funeral celebrant or someone to help you mark another important moment in life, you can be confident that I take both the privilege and responsibility of being your celebrant seriously.

For me, every ceremony deserves care, preparation and continued learning - because your story deserves to be told well.

Life behind the business

Behind Lisa Jane Celebrant is a busy, happy family life with my husband Tim and our two mischievous Sprocker spaniels, Ronnie and Edie. Family, community, nature and the simple moments that bring people together all shape the warmth I bring to my work.

The sunflower and my dad

The sunflower at the heart of my branding has a very personal meaning. It connects me to my dad and represents warmth, love, strength and the way someone’s presence can continue to brighten our lives. It is more than a logo, it is part of my own story.
